For two percussion players, recycled percussion and surround sound (written for Robyn Schulkowsky and Ezequiel Finger).
BLANCO DE PLOMO (2002) is part of a series of three pieces exploring the metaphoric nuances of color and sound.
Two custom-made marimbas were built using pans and pots tuned to covered 2 and a half octaves and used in the central section of the piece. The electronic part was composed for a four channels speaker array and featured recordings made by Varchausky of the running machinery at IMPA, an aluminum metal factory run by its workers that becomes a cultural center after business hours.
